Kasur Tipis vs Tebal

Thin vs thick mattress

June 15, 2020

What is the optimal thickness for a mattress? There is no one-size-fits-all answer. The right mattress thickness depends on several factors. The issue of a thick or thin mattress should also be in consideration of the type of mattress. Let’s explore into it – the thick or thin question!

Your weight matters

Firstly, it depends on your weight. Imagine a 90kg man vs a 45 kg petite lady. There will definitely be differences in their preferred mattress thickness.

Most of the time, a heavier person will be more comfortable on a thicker mattress. Conversely, a lighter person can choose a thinner mattress.

How about more support?

If you need more support, go for a mattress that is thicker as it is more likely to be sturdy enough to give you that extra support boost.

Favorite sleeping position?

Your mattress thickness also depends on your favorite sleeping position! If you like sleeping on your back, we recommend a thickness of at least 15 to 20 inches. For side sleepers, a mattress of 20 to 25 inches should work well. Stomach sleepers need a mattress that is at least 25 to 35 inches.
