Sleep disorders are disorders that cause problems in someone sleep patterns. Sleep disorders include the inability of a person to fall asleep, always wake up at night or the inability to fall back asleep when awakened. One of the most serious sleep disorders is Narcolepsy.

Narcolepsy is a type of sleep disorder that is quite dangerous for sufferers because narcolepsy sufferers can sleep anywhere, anytime, regardless of place and time. At the acute narcolepsy stage, the patient can suddenly fall asleep while eating or when driving. Therefore this sleep disorder is very dangerous for anyone who suffers for it.

Some of the symptoms of narcolepsy that have been known to date are sudden sleep, frequent sleepiness, muscle weakness without heavy activities, insomnia, hallucinations, and easy sleepiness during the day.

To treat narcolepsy sufferers, doctors usually advise their patients to try to change their lifestyle by avoiding alcohol consumption, caffeine and maintaining their diet and providing time for exercise. Besides changing the patient’s lifestyle, doctors also usually prescribe special medications such as antidepressants, stimulants and Sodium oxybate.
